Our Story Is Your Story

"WHY? Customers usually ask,

“So who’s the other Simon?”, to which I reply “He’s off travelling the globe!

Truth is, it’s just myself and my team. Everything has an opposite; Yin to the yang, the up and the down, richer and poorer, the give and the take. So, it’s about life really.

With over 20 years in the fashion industry, my passion for creating great quality clothes is still as strong today as it’s always been. In fact, I now actually care more than ever with consumers being bombarded and over-choiced with throw away fashion.

My last venture prior to Simon + Simon was as partner and creative director of a successful street wear brand called Henleys. We were listed 4 years solid in the ‘Fast track top 100’ fastest growing companies in the UK, it was a great ride with some fantastic memories.

After 8 years and hitting turnover in excess of £50m I really felt it was time for a new challenge. The relentless seasons which seem to be getting more and more out of sync, heavy discounting through the market place and designer brands using huge mark-ups whilst supplying discount houses, I really felt the consumer deserved a more simple and honest way to buy their clothes and to be shown much more respect.

I was actually looking for some new clothes and found it seriously difficult to find great fitting basics. I like neutral colours and not interested in being designers’ walking billboard. So plain, great quality and affordable .

I thought, there’s got to be a better way, I’m passed overspending on clothes as I know the true costs. The choice was overwhelming and the customer service was well below par. I wanted to offer an edited version of the clothes, that as men, we actually wear. If you take a snap shot of a busy street, you’ll notice most guys over 30 wear the same kind of styles and colours.

PRICING

We’ve decided not to supply retailers, we’d prefer to pass their profits onto you.

We focus heavily on the quality and fit of our essentials. We believe whatever you spend your hard earned money on needs to last, you deserve that.

We sometimes will even tell you our total cost to produce the garment, just to be honest. Brands that supply retailers generally take the factory cost and double it, they need to also pay sales agents commission, sometimes topping 15%.

For Example: Take a shirt costing £10, they sell to a store for £20, the shop then retails for £55. The thing is, the brand then sells direct on their own website for the same price, basically using the retailer to promote and drive their brand awareness … it’s not right. Then discount houses, who used to buy scrappy ends of lines, then order full newly made batches from the collections and pricing them at the ‘was’ price. We don’t think it’s fair to the consumer.
